Rainwater Harvesting
A Sustainable Solution for Your Water Needs In the changing climate of South India, rainwater harvesting is the most practical solution to address water scarcity. We provide scientifically designed rainwater harvesting systems for homes, factories, and commercial establishments.
Our Service Areas:
We proudly extend our engineering expertise across Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka . From residential projects in Mysore and Coimbatore to industrial setups across Kerala, our team is equipped to deliver excellence across the borders.
Technical Specifications:
A successful rainwater harvesting system requires precise engineering and planning. We follow these key technical steps:
1. Conveyance System Design:
UV Resistant Pipes: We use high-quality PVC pipes that do not degrade under direct sunlight.
Precision Slope: Pipes are installed with an accurate gradient to ensure smooth and unobstructed water flow from the roof.
2. First Flush Diverter:
The initial 10-15 minutes of rain often contain dust and debris from the roof.
We install a First Flush Lock system to divert this contaminated water away automatically, preventing it from entering the storage tank.
3. Multi-stage Filtration:
To ensure water purity, we utilize:
Leaf Screens: To block leaves and larger debris.
Charcoal & Sand Filters: To remove fine particles and eliminate odors. Non-Return Valves: To prevent the backflow of water from the tank.
4. Well Recharge Engineering:
Recharge Pits: We construct scientific filtration pits (1.5m to 3m deep) using layers of boulders, charcoal, and sand.
This ensures that rainwater is fully purified before it reaches the groundwater table or your well.
5. Storage Tank Selection:
Ferrocement Tanks: Cost-effective and highly durable for long-term use.
RCC Tanks: Ideal for large-scale underground water storage.
Rainwater Harvesting Capacity – An Estimate
Based on the average rainfall in South India, here is an estimate of the water you can save annually:
| Roof Area (sq.ft) | Annual Water Yield (Approx. Liters) | Recommended Tank Capacity |
| 500 sq.ft| 1,00,000 Liters | 5,000 – 10,000 Liters |
| 1000 sq.ft| 2,00,000 Liters | 10,000 – 20,000 Liters |
| 2000 sq.ft | 4,00,000 Liters | 20,000 – 40,000 Liters |
| 5000 sq.ft | 10,00,000 Liters | Industrial Grade Systems |
